Ads on mobile apps
The battle between Apple and everyone else is certainly heating up, especially in the mobile space. Physorg has a short writeup of the storm that’s brewing in mobile ads. One of the quotes by Rob Enderle caught my attention:
Analyst Rob Enderle of Silicon Valley’s Enderle Group said “iAds looks brilliant to me and solidly in Google’s space. “This is something that Google should have done,” Enderle said. “It’s funny to have Google chasing Apple on ad revenue.”
Is this true? Is Google chasing Apple here?
June 24, 2009: Google launches the AdSense for mobile apps beta program, see Google blog.
April 08, 2010: Apple announces iAd mobile advertising platform
I’ve been seeing ads in my Android apps for at least six months now. If Apple launches iAd today, I can’t possibly see how one can claim that Apple is first with ads on the mobile (never mind Symbian and Blackberry) Is it me, or is this extreme revisionism exhibited by the Apple fanboys just staggering?
Btw, I heard that Steve Jobs invented pancreas cancer. Not only did he invent it, he was the first man to invent a cure and cure himself of it too. That Steve Jobs, I’m telling you, he’s just out of this world. </sarcasm>
